About Me
I’m Lauren Baracz and I am 19 years old. I really enjoy the Primary Education course and can’t wait to get out there and start teaching. On my days off from uni I work at a newsagency, which is generally a lot of fun. I like to hang out with my friends and family, who are always good company and always hilarious – we have a good laugh. I am looking forward to the end of this semester when I head to Europe for the break which should be awesome.
I have never really shown interest in using computers and other technologies to do things other than word processing and email. Currently in my second year of my course at UTS, I am finding the advantages of using technology for so much more. Being introduced each week to new technologies and methods of presenting work has been a confronting experience as I usually just stick to what I know. This subject is providing me with the knowledge and skills that will enable me to construct a greater variety of creative and interesting lessons to be used within the classroom. I love to get creative and produce objects in the traditional manner – with pencils, paint and other art mediums, but this course will allow me to go beyond this and develop ways to creatively use technology. I am continuously surprised with how easy the programs are to use and the myriad of things that the programs make possible. I am enjoying experimenting with the new programs and figuring out their different functions. Hopefully I can take away from this course the skills and knowledge that will allow me to successfully use technology in the classroom.

Great blog Lauren!
Blogging’s a great way to share ideas in the profession. It’s great to see your uni promoting such things.
I landed over here through Google when searching for one of the tutors here at Newcastle Uni, Robert Parkes and his WebDilemmas.
Good luck in the rest of your studies at UTS. I’m in my final year of primary teaching and have internship next semester, but at the rate I’m going on an assignment at the moment you might just finish before me
I have a blog aggregator at http://planet.thinked.net . If you’d like I can put your blog on it. It doesn’t get any visitors yet but here’s hoping.
Best of luck,
Rob.
